I've been blessed to work at Casa Rara as Lead 3D artist on the amazing VR game Museum of Symmetry.
This National Film Board produced experience is directed by illustrator and animator Paloma Dawkins, my work consisted in bringing her crazy visual signature to Virtual Reality, with a wild mix of 2D animated sprites and 3D assets.

By far the most interesting part in the project has been the conception of all these reality-bending effects. We used a lot of animated unlit meshes, often high in polycount, without affecting performance a bit.

This scene - featuring Paloma's artwork - is one of the only ''grounded'' ones, it was an excellent occasion for a solemn and peaceful lighting mood, a calm moment before the wild adventure that awaits.
